the house of too much dust

i've gotten a ridiculous amount of work done at my moms house. both of the bedrooms, the living room (most of it at least, i ran out of paint because red is SO hard to cover!), the dining room, and the hallway that runs the upstairs hallway all the way down to the first floor are ALLLLL painted. along with all of the rooms i also managed to get the woodwork around 7 of the doorways, the staircase, and 2 of the actual doors on the first floor painted with white trim enamel. whew! it was alot of painting. i can't get over how different the whole house looks.

this last trip was a bit taxing. the trip before i worked just upstairs, where there was a lot less filth. i got a little sneezy and stuffed up, but i also thought that it was just because spring had sprang and there was some pollen around. i might have been wrong about that. when i started working on the first floor this time, i was kicking up alot of dust, dried animal poo (ferrets like to "go" in the corners of rooms.. they never cleaned it up), and cobwebs. most of the dust was in the radiators, i had to get them cleaned out and prepped for painting. by thursday night i was all stuffed up and sneezy. i picked up a bottle of nyquil to help me sleep and shut myself into my bedroom with the windows open since that is by far the cleanest room (if i'm going to sleep in it.. its not going to be gross) to get some fresh air. on friday morning, i could barely breathe, as in, getting up off the air mattress to walk down the hall to the bathroom left me heavily winded. it was pretty scary. i was going to be having dinner with my aunts and grammy so i decided to just take it easy for the day. i hung out on the back porch listening to music and trying to soak up the fresh air.

it was great to have dinner with everyone, but getting on the road to go home was rough. i took a nap before i left, then i ended up stopping again halfway home to nap again. i got home around 1 am where steve met me at the curb so he could park the van which meant i didn't have to walk a block to get to the house. walking from the street up the 12 stairs into my house and into my bedroom left me panting to catch my breath. even my inhaler didn't help the way i'd hoped it would. steve came to hang out and chat with me for awhile and i ended up falling asleep in his lap. when i woke up i was coughing alot of mess up. i also found that steve had opened the window and strategically placed a watter bottle and my inhaler right on my nightstand. once i got past the coughing i didn't feel so winded. steve ended up going to play d&d while i spent the day napping.

some "weekend".
